After traveling to Spain 19 times and visiting 75 countries, I realized there was a huge gap in the market. I had never experienced a great sangria, let alone a great ready-to-pour sangria. From homemade recipes to bar concoctions, it became clear that several sangrias didn’t even contain wine (in the USA, we call this trashcan punch), and virtually none used Spanish wines. I encountered people calling their creations “sangria” who didn’t even bother with wine!

In pursuit of the best sangria, I visited six wineries across Spain. The last winery I visited promised to create the best-bottled sangria. They have been making wine and sangria for four generations and know what they are doing like no other winery I visited. We elected to put the sangria in a nice but not Fancy bottle and keep the expense of making quality in the Recipe, the varietals, and 12% ABV. It is not a $2 or $3 fancy bottle. You can’t eat or drink the bottle, but you can drink the sangria in it, making it the best value!

Most sangrias have 6% to 8% ABV, which means 60% to 40% water as opposed to 12%. We like adding a full glass of water to our sangria!
